Destination Winnipeg Inc./ Ken Miner Photography
It’s coming June 25 to 27, 2007 to
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
The Manure Management Conference, a tri-provincial initiative, is for all
members of the livestock industry – producers, councillors, researchers,
industry and government. This year’s conference focuses on sustainability
issues.
Leading
experts from across North America and Europe will address a wide range of
topics on sustainable livestock production practices, including
environmental regulations, watershed and land use planning, phosphorus
strategies and the latest developments in manure treatment technologies.
The
conference will also feature concurrent full-day technology demonstration
tours that showcase manure management and the affects on soil and water.
An optional pre-conference tour will highlight the Red River
Floodway Expansion Project, a federal/provincial initiative designed to
increase the channel’s water capacity from 1,700 cubic metres per second to
4,000 cubic metres per second without adversely affecting groundwater
conditions.
